The goal of this activity is to educate medical and surgical oncologists about diagnosis and treatment interventions for psuedomyxoma peritonei and appendix cancer, as well as empower patients about their own care. When diagnosed early and appropriately, the patient will have much better outcomes.

Target Audience

This activity has been designed for oncology physicians other healthcare professionals, and patients interested in the diagnosis and treatment of psuedomyxoma peritonei and appendix cancer.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be able to:

  • Identify the markers needed to properly diagnose psuedomyxoma peritonei and appendix cancer;
  • State the new advances in chemotherapy and immunotherapy, nutrition, and supportive services available to psuedomyxoma peritonei and appendix cancer patients;
  • Recognize when a psuedomyxoma peritonei and appendix cancer patient is eligible for surgical interventions;
  • Discuss the patient perspective to psuedomyxoma peritonei and appendix cancer diagnosis and treatment.
