Objectives:
- Review the role of the gut microbiome on cancer immunity
- Discuss the effect of antibiotic treatment on response and survival with checkpoint inhibitor therapy
- Explore strategies to modulate the microbiome in order to enhance immunotherapy response
and
- Discuss the physiologic impact of cancer treatments - including chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, and surgery - on long-term metabolic health
- Review the literature on the long term consequences of these metabolic derangements, including effects on physical and emotional health outcomes
- Discuss potential interventions that can be employed in the clinic, as well as at home, to address these metabolic toxicities
