Objectives:

  1. Review the role of the gut microbiome on cancer immunity
  2. Discuss the effect of antibiotic treatment on response and survival with checkpoint inhibitor therapy
  3. Explore strategies to modulate the microbiome in order to enhance immunotherapy response

and

  1. Discuss the physiologic impact of cancer treatments - including chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, and surgery - on long-term metabolic health
  2. Review the literature on the long term consequences of these metabolic derangements, including effects on physical and emotional health outcomes
  3. Discuss potential interventions that can be employed in the clinic, as well as at home, to address these metabolic toxicities
