Target Audience
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participatants will be able to:
- Perform essential actions appropriate for discipline and specialty that must occur within the first moments of a cardiac arrest;
- Describe how to proactively working through arrest algorithms in anticipation of next steps in order to assist the code team in minimizing interruptions throughout cardiac arrest;
- Identify the responsibilities of each member of the Dr. CART team;
- State appropriate procedures for activation and cancellation of the 1-4-7 emergency response communication system;
- Explain how to utilize the closed-loop communication technique to ensure understanding and completion of assigned tasks and responsibilities across professions;
- Demonstrate how to use hospital-wide emergency equipment;
- Explain the application and utilization of hospital-wide Dr. CART policies and procedures.
