Objectives

1. To understand the pathophysiology of periventricular-intraventricular hemorrhage in the premature infant.

2.  To understand the factors that can reduce the incidence and progression of periventricular-intraventricular hemorrhage in the premature infant. 

3.  To understand that midline head position and head elevation may reduce the incidence and progression of periventricular-intraventricular hemorrhage in the premature infant.
