Objectives

  1. Verbalize signs of abuse, neglect and exploitation of adults with disabilities (ages 18 -59) and older adults (60+)
  2. List indications for mandatory and voluntary reporting to Adult Protective Services
  3. Articulate what services the patient can receive from Adult Protective Services and how to best coordinate with Adult Protective Services (APS)
  4. Define each type of adult abuse, neglect and exploitation
  5. Provide tips on how to diagnose adult abuse on history/physical
  6. Describe a physician’s role in reporting and responding to APS inquiries
