Objectives
- Verbalize signs of abuse, neglect and exploitation of adults with disabilities (ages 18 -59) and older adults (60+)
- List indications for mandatory and voluntary reporting to Adult Protective Services
- Articulate what services the patient can receive from Adult Protective Services and how to best coordinate with Adult Protective Services (APS)
- Define each type of adult abuse, neglect and exploitation
- Provide tips on how to diagnose adult abuse on history/physical
- Describe a physician’s role in reporting and responding to APS inquiries
