Objectives: 

1.Describe goals of treatment of hyperglycemia in non-critically ill hospitalized patients

2.Diagnose diabetic ketoacidosis and hyperosmolar hyperglycemia syndrome and understand the principles of treatment of these life-threatening conditions in the noncritical care setting

3.To understand how to prevent and treat hypoglycemia of hospitalized patients
