Learning Objectives:
- Be familiar with the current diagnostic guidelines (ICC-2022 & 5th edit WHO) of myeloid neoplasms and acute leukemia.
- Understand the challenges and pitfalls in the diagnosis of unusual myeloid sarcoma/leukemia, acute leukemia of ambiguous lineage, MDS, and MN(s) w/ germline predisposition.
- Understand the basic structures and function as well as the clinical importance of DDX41, p53/TP53, PU.1, GATAs, C/EBPa/b, CBL, and FLT3.
- Understand the evolving concepts of the LMPP/LMMP, the classical bifurcation vs. the asymmetric hematopoiesis models, lineage reprogramming (transdifferentiation) vs stem cell reprogramming (iPSC generation).
