1. To review the role of monogenic and polygenic factors in contributing to inherited risk for heart attack.

2. To review the extent to which adherence to an optimal lifestyle can counter-balance inherited risk for heart attack. 

3. To review how the study of humans who naturally lack a gene (i.e., 'human knockouts’) can provide insight to health and disease.
