Objectives:

1. To understand the mechanisms by which mutations in cardiac ion channels and related proteins cause inherited forms of sudden death.

2. To understand the clinical evaluation of patients with suspected inherited arrhythmias.

3. To appreciate the role of genetic testing in the diagnosis and treatment of inherited arrhythmia syndromes.
