Objectives: 

1. Discuss how much deformity or disability: is it reasonable to inflict on a patient to save their lives?

2. Acknowledge that amputation is not so bad if you could preserve function.

3. Agree that amputation is sometimes necessary – to preserve life (or improve quality of life)
