Objectives

1.             Presenter will discuss community violence and its impact on youth

2.             Participants will understand about how to address needs of youth exposed to violence from a socioecological framework

3.           The presenter will discuss the 5 best practices of violence prevention and intervention and audience will briefly discuss examples of how they specifically promote the positive youth development best practice in pediatric care.  A community example of  promoting this best practice in a youth setting will also be discussed.
