Objectives:

•The initial trauma survey and acute resuscitation share many similarities with the principles used for adult patients:
–Primary Survey: A, B, C, D, E
–Adjunct: Imaging, eFAST
–Secondary Survey
•However, there are significant differences in the assessment and management of pediatric trauma. These are due to unique anatomic, physiologic and social characteristics.
