Objectives:

 

Begins as early as the 3rd week after fertilization
3rd week germs cells migrate from yolk sac to genital ridge
4th – 8th week: testis develop under influence of SRY gene
Human chorionic gonadotropin à activates Leydig cells à secrete testosterone
6th – 7th week: Sertoli cells secrete Müllerin inhibiting substance
9th week: scrotum is formed; Wolffian duct begins to form (epididymis, vas deferens, seminal vesicles)
8th – 15th week: Gubernaculum swells and starts to develop room in the scrotum for testicular descent
25 – 35 weeks: Migration of the testicle into the scrotum occurs, along with the processus vaginalis
37 – 40 weeks: final migration complete, processus closes
