DESCRIPTION

We will discuss recent studies of local treatment of breast cancer and how they impact on mortality. Will discuss the concept of the parallel model of breast cancer progression. Also discuss the weakness of using iDFS as an surrogate outcome in breast cancer clinical studies.

• Better understand the epidemiology of contralateral breast cancer
• To better undertint the natural history of DCIS
• Understand the rationale of mammographic screening after invasive primary breast cancer.
