1. Recognize and assess HIT early
    Understand the clinical presentation, platelet count trends, timing of onset, and how to apply the 4Ts scoring system to identify patients at risk for Heparin-Induced Thrombocytopenia (HIT).
  2.  Interpret diagnostic testing appropriately
    Differentiate between immunoassays and functional assays, interpret laboratory results within the clinical context, and distinguish HIT from other causes of thrombocytopenia.
  3. Implement evidence-based management strategies
    Apply immediate management steps for suspected HIT, including discontinuation of heparin, initiation of alternative anticoagulation, and planning for safe long-term treatment and prevention of complications.
