• Understand the embryology of the pelvic structures and possible pathophysiology of ARMs.
  • Be able to apply the classification system for anorectal malformations to diagnose a patient.
  • Appropriately work up a patient with ARM for associate anomalies
  • Provide proper surgical management of a newborn with a diagnosis of ARM.
  • Be familiar with and anticipate potential post-operative complications.
