1. Participants will learn the difference between basal nutritional needs and nutritional requirements in the critically ill patient.

2. Participants will learn the different tools available to assess nutritional requirements and the success of nutritional interventions in the ICU

3. Participants will be able to discuss the risks to the patient posed by various nutritional interventions.
