Objectives:

1.Physicians will understand the legal, social, and public health consequences of disclosing their pregnant patients to the police and other authorities.

2.Physicians will consider their ethical duties to new and expecting mothers, particularly their duty to "advocate for the protection of confidential information and, if appropriate, seek a change in the law.”
