Objectives:
- Define herbalism and botanical medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), acupuncture
- Discuss current research and safety of botanical medicine and acupuncture, including understand benefits of and barriers to evidence-based research of TCM/Acupuncture/botanical medicine
- Understand how to evaluate the quality of commercial herbal products and identify reputable sources for herbal products
- Identify clinical situations which can be treated with and benefit from referral to an herbalist or TCM practitioner (acupuncturist), including preconception through postpartum
