Learning Objectives:

  1. Review Kahneman and Tversky’s systems of thinking and how they contribute to cognitive bias (blind spots) and heuristics (shortcuts).
  2. Identify how these biases can contribute to disparities in healthcare at the level of the patient, provider, and society.
  3. Explore ways in which these disparities might then be amplified if the individual biases are then coded into algorithms/artificial intelligence.
