Learning Objectives:
- Review Kahneman and Tversky’s systems of thinking and how they contribute to cognitive bias (blind spots) and heuristics (shortcuts).
- Identify how these biases can contribute to disparities in healthcare at the level of the patient, provider, and society.
- Explore ways in which these disparities might then be amplified if the individual biases are then coded into algorithms/artificial intelligence.
