Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to compare and contrast the dietary components of the MIND diet to the Mediterranean and DASH diet patterns.
  2. Participants will be able to assess the aspects of patient/client’s diet that are associated with reducing cognitive decline following stroke, and provide education and counseling to incorporate portions of the MIND diet into their usual intake patterns.
  3. To review the relationship and communication between the gut microbiome and the brain.

  4. To examine the effects of flavonoids on depression through changes in the gut microbiome.
