Learning Objectives:
- Participants will receive an overview of psychiatric medications commonly prescribed for mental health management during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
- Participants will learn about how to talk with perinatal patients on the importance of communication with healthcare providers regarding medications and provide information to empower patients to actively participate in decision-making related to their medication management.
- Participants will learn how to facilitate and strengthen support networks including how to empower partners, family members, and friends with the knowledge and skills to provide effective support to individuals experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders who may benefit from medication assistance
