3. Define primary and secondary wound closure and know the indications for each type of closure.

4. Know the different closure options and indications for the use of each method of closure.

5. Recognize the importance of special care when treating wounds of the lips, tongue and intraoral cavity, ears, and nailbeds.

6. Recognize the risk of infection related to bite wounds and the indications for repair.

7. Know the indications for tetanus prophylaxis after sustaining a wound.

8. Know the indications for antibiotics after sustaining a wound.
