1. Identify indicators for child abuse, neglect, and medical neglect and describe the process for reporting suspected abuse or neglect including documentation required.
2.  Learn critical legal requirements and concepts relating to emergency treatment and informed consent for children and adolescents.
3. Learn the importance of forensic documentation and providing evidence based testimony.
4.  Learn the process for reporting abuse, neglect, and medical neglect to DCFS and understand the role of DCFS in taking protective custody and providing consent for emergency treatment including hospitalization.
