Objectives:

a. Reviews the changing epidemiology of mitral, aortic, and coronary stenosis, and their presentation in the perioperative setting
b. Identifies how changing diagnostic/therapeutic paradigms may affect perioperative anesthesia care during noncardiac surgery
c. Suggests approaches to perioperative management of such patients that address the above issues
