Learning Objectives:

1. Physicians will know what deaths fall under the jurisdiction of the medical examiner’s office so that they can appropriately report the deaths of their patients.
2. They should be able to provide basic information to surviving family members regarding the services provided by the medical examiner’s office.
3. Inform residents of when it is necessary to report child deaths.
