Objectives:

1: Effectively identify patients at risk for both obstetrical and surgical morbidity and arrange for appropriate consultations to minimize the impact of potential complications.
2: Critically assess guidelines posted by our various organizations whose intentions are to improve care provided to women, and determine the role of individualized provisions for those who fall outside of the norm.

3: Effectively utilize techniques to optimize the teaching of medical students, residents and fellows.
