Learning Objectives:

1. Explain why ELBWs are at increased risk of hypophosphatemia.
2. Name at least one proposed explanation for hypophosphatemia and worsened neurodevelopmental outcomes.
3. Discuss this study population's prevalence of vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency and how this applies to our NICU population.
4. Consider alternative practices to our lab schedule and parenteral and enteral vitamin D dosing based on these researchers' findings.
