Objectives:

  • Identify important changes made to the 2019 State of IL Perinatal HIV Guidelines
  • Correctly apply the 2019 State of IL Perinatal HIV Guidelines to neonates born to HIV-infected women at UCMC
  • Provide culturally-sensitive guidance to health care workers faced with important decisions around providing care to HIV-infected women and their neonates.
  • - review previous RTCs related to treatment for ROP
  • - understand risks and benefits of anti-VEGF agents
  • - consider the potential effects of anti-VEGF agents on neurodevelopment 
  • - review a possible prospective RTC using a new anti-VEGF agent
