Updates in Internal Medicine for the Primary Care Practitioner

The goal of this symposium is to support the needs of the PCP, PA's and NP's in the ever changing health care enviroment. This conference facilitates self-directed, practice-based education that supports physicians committment to lifelong learning. This program is designed to offer solutions to real-world practice issues,in addition to providing updates on the latest medical practices.

 

Target Audience

This activity has been designed for physicians in internal medicine and family medicine, hospitalists, residents & fellows, nurses, APNs, and other healthcare professionals involved in primary care.

Learning Objectives

After participating in this activity, attendees will be able to:

  • Discuss the epidemiology,clinical manifistations, pathophysiology and treatment of common clinical conditions seen by internists and other primary care providers;
  • Develop diagnostic algorithms for well recognized syndromes commonly seen by primary care physicians;
  • Describe diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to common and important diseases;
  • Incorporate results from recent clinical trials in the management of patients with common and important medical conditions.

American Board of Internal Medicine MOC Part II Credit
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 7.25 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
 
Other Healthcare Professions
Nurses and other healthcare professionals will receive a Certificate of Participation. For information on the applicability and acceptance of Certificates of Participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME, please consult your professional licensing board. 
 
Please Note: Requests to claim MOC Part II credit must be made within one month to report to ABIM. Requests to claim AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ after three months will be subject to additional fees.
