DESCRIPTION:

This presentation explores the impact of cancer treatments on reproductive health of young patients. It highlights the importance of early fertility discussions, risk stratification, and available preservation options tailored to patient-specific factors such as sex, developmental stage, and treatment type.

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe normal reproductive health trajectories in young patients and identify factors that disrupt these trajectories during cancer treatments.
  • Assess fertility preservation risks and challenges in young patients with cancer.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate fertility preservation options based on individual patient factors such as sex, developmental stage, diagnosis, and treatment plan.
