Objectives:
1. Use of novel tools to manipulate neuronal circuits that drive behaviors essential for survival.
2. Understand how genetically-identified cell types and their projections drive behaviors essential for survival such as feeding.
3. Understand the mechanisms regulating food intake and the rewarding and addictive nature of food to enhance our ability to battle disorders such as obesity, diabetes, anorexia, bulimia, and addiction.
