Objectives

• Learn the Atypical presentations of elders with abdominal pain
• Learn that elder abdominal pain has very high rates of morbidity, mortality and misdiagnosis from the Emergency Department
• Understand the basic physiologic changes that make the diagnosis  of abdominal pain so challenging in the elder population
• Create a strategy to better care for abdominal emergencies in the elder population
